About the Center
We Believe Every Individual Has Value As They Are!
For eighteen years, the Stonewall Alliance of Chico has been an important connection for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Our volunteers strive to provide information and referrals for people like you. We enter classrooms to tell our personal stories. The Harlen Adams Memorial Library has over 1,200 books for your reading or research enjoyment. Since 1994 our youth services have given area youth a safe space to ask questions and make friends.
Our philosophy includes the simple concept that labels are only valuable when they are self-applied. We accept & acknowledge the labels or lack thereof you apply to yourself. For young people with questions it is critical that understanding come before labels.
The Stonewall Alliance Center straddle one junction between personal identity and community. Our success and our strength as an organization is only due to the support of our community.
